The present invention relates to a vehicle remote control system and, more specifically, to a system which is installed in a mobile device, and remotely controls a vehicle with a minimum operation, and to a method thereof. The vehicle remote control system comprises: a lock screen setting module for setting a quick remote key screen for remotely controlling a vehicle as a lock screen of a mobile device; a quick remote key display module for selectively displaying the quick remote key screen on a display unit of the mobile device based on a screen setting state of the quick remote key during a screen display operation command in a power saving or locking mode of the mobile device; a control command generation module for generating a vehicle remote control command according to an operation button touch configuring the quick remote key screen even in a locking mode or an unlocking state of the mobile device; and a control command transmission module for transmitting the generated vehicle remote control command to a designated server through a wireless communications unit of the mobile device.
