A solid electrolytic capacitor having a barrier layer is provided to improve performance through the barrier layer in relatively high humidity and/or high temperature environment. A solid electrolytic capacitor includes an anode, a dielectric layer, a solid electrolytic layer, and a barrier layer. The dielectric layer is formed on the anode. The solid electrolytic layer is formed on the dielectric layer. The barrier layer is formed on the solid electrolytic layer and has a three-dimensional cross-linked network structure formed from a barrier polymer. The barrier polymer has at least two hydroxyl groups, alkoxy groups, or a combination thereof. The barrier polymer is polyurethane or polyester. |
