EYEBALL DETECTION METHOD USING GENETIC ALGORITHM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To configure a contactless interface using eyeball motions for patients or subjects who can move the neck and can move the face slightly, such as those severely disabled in traffic accidents or by cervical spine injuries. SOLUTION: An eyeball detection method using a genetic algorithm compares a target image capturing a patient's or subject's face image including an eyebrow and an eye with a prepared general purpose template image modeling an iris region and applies template matching using a genetic algorithm to detect the eyeball in the target image.
