<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a method capable of continuing road guidance without disturbing screen display even if the communication speed between a server and a thin client is slowed down, and to provide a client, a server, a method for controlling them, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The client 20 includes both a communication speed measurement unit 28 for monitoring the communication speed of wireless communication and a control unit 23 for notifying the server when the communication speed of wireless communication is slowed down below a prescribed speed.
