摘要 <p>The value of a quantization parameter (QP) for at least one chroma component of an image or image portion is determined based on the value of an intermediate QP (QPI). That QPI is itself based on the value of the QP of the corresponding luma component of the image/image portion. The relation between the value of QPI and the value of QPC is based on at least one adaptive parameter, e.g. implemented as a unique equation or a table. The prior art used a fixed relation between QPC and QPI, thereby not allowing flexibility for setting the QPC values. The disclosure uses adaptive parameters to more finely control the link between chroma and luma QPs via the intermediate QP. The chroma QP may also be used as a deblocking QP for a deblocking filter.</p>
