PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam homogenizer capable of producing white illumination with light from a single monochromatic light source, and to provide a low-cost optical engine with a reduced number of components and size using such a beam homogenizer.SOLUTION: A beam homogenizer of the present invention includes; a light entry port; a light exit port; an inner surface for guiding light that enters from the light entry port; a first color conversion section which convents incident light to light of a different color; a second color conversion section which converts the incident light to light of a color other than the color produced by the first color conversion section; a reflection section which reflects the incident light without making color conversion or a third color conversion section which converts the incident light to light of a color other than the colors produced by the first and second color conversion sections. |
