PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a &pgr;-electron conjugated polymer which is excellent in heat stability and is small in band gap.SOLUTION: A &pgr;-electron conjugated polymer is represented by formula (1), wherein U is Si or Ge; Yis N and Yis CH or CF, or Yis CH or CF and Yis N; Z is one selected from the group consisting of S, Se and N-R; R, Rand Rare each independently a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a 1-20C alkyl group which may have a substituent, a 6-20C aryl group which may have a substituent; and n is a positive number of ≥2. |
