<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create surface processing data for forming a less-strained grain pattern with good appearance without incurring decrease in processing speed of a computer or the like, even when giving the grain pattern to a product having a large area shape. <P>SOLUTION: A product surface is divided into multiple patches, is made polygon-meshed, and apex arrays on a border line between adjacent patches are made coincide with each other. Then, a texture is mapped in patch units. Apexes of the polygon mesh displaced on the basis of the mapped texture are connected to obtain a grain-added polygon data in the patch units. Since processing data at each processing step can be limited to data of adjacent two patches at a maximum, operation range of a computer due to limit of working memory capacity is not exceeded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
