BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION DEVICE AND BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device and a biometric authentication method which can improve accuracy of personal authentication.

SOLUTION: A biometric authentication device comprises: a biometric information input unit for acquiring target person biometric information from a target person for authentication; biometric registration information storage unit for storing pieces of user biometric information in advance which are biometric information of a plurality of users of biometric authentication device including the target person; a collation unit for collating the target person biometric information acquired by the biometric information input unit with the user biometric information stored in the biometric information registration storage unit; an authentication history information storage unit for storing collation results of the target person biometric information and the user biometric information as authentication history information; an authentication threshold determination unit for determining a matching degree of a collation result based on the authentication history information to determine an authentication determination threshold for performing authentication of the user; and an authentication determination unit for determining whether to authenticate the target person based on the authentication determination threshold determined by the authentication threshold determination unit and the biometric information acquired by the biometric information input unit.
