Aerosolized fluoroquinolones and uses thereof

Disclosed herein is an aerosol of an aqueous solution comprising of levofloxacin or ofloxacin and a divalent or trivalent cation wherein the solution is suitable for inhalation into a lung. Said aerosol is useful in the treatment of a lung infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases or cystic fibrosis. Also disclosed are inhalation protocols and manufacturing procedures for the production and use of the compositions as described.
