<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of battery performance due to an increase in the negative resistance, and prevent a manganese component from being deposited on the surface of a negative electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprise: an electric power generation element that includes positive electrodes 21 and 23 having manganese oxide; a separator 25; and negative electrodes 22 and 24. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery also comprises: manganese ion trapping metal 26 that is provided in the separator 25 and inside which ion can be moved; electron supply metal 27 that is electrically insulated from the electric power generation element and electrically connected to the manganese ion trapping metal 26; and a voltage application source 7 that applies voltage in which a potential of the manganese ion trapping metal 26 is less than a reduction potential of manganese, between the electron supply metal 27 and the manganese ion trapping metal 26. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
