PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep uniform visibility of color of an endoscopic image at any place.SOLUTION: An endoscope processor 20 includes: a second video signal processing circuit 22b; a memory 23; and a mask luminance generating circuit 27. The memory 23 stores reference values of first to fourth and sixth to ninth colors. In a mask luminance setting mode, a mask luminance generating circuit 27 calculates visibility attributes of the first to the fourth and the sixth to the ninth colors based on the ambient illuminance, the luminance of a mask image, the white luminance of an observed image, the white tristimulus values of the observed image and the tristimulus values of the first to the fourth and the sixth to the ninth colors. The mask luminance generating circuit 27 corrects the luminance of the mask image so that the visibility attributes of the first to the fourth and the sixth to the ninth colors approximate to the first to the fourth and the sixth to the ninth reference values. A second video signal processing circuit 22b creates a display image including the mask image with the corrected luminance. |
