PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of improving user-friendliness of a handle by easily moving the handle to a gripping position. SOLUTION: The projector 1 includes external housings 5 and 6 constituting an external case, and the handle 10 for carrying the projector 1. The handle 10 is attached to be movable to the gripping position where it protrudes from outer surfaces of the external housings 5 and 6, or to a housing position where it is housed in the external housings 5 and 6 relative to the external housings 5 and 6. A recess for housing 62 in which the handle 10 is housed when the handle 10 is located at the housing position, and a recess for taking-out 63 which communicates with the recess for housing 62 are formed on the outer surface of the external housing 6.
