PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly register event information as metadata of browsing target data. SOLUTION: An event information registration device acquires the event information as information related to the browsing target data provided according to retrieval of a browser. Next, the event information registration device decides timing to register the event information as the metadata of the browsing target data based on at least one of a transition of a frequency at which the browsing target data are browsed by the browser, an emergency degree of a phenomenon indicated by the event information, and a target range of the phenomenon indicated by the event information. The event information registration device registers the acquired event information as the metadata of the browsing target data when deciding that the timing is timing to perform the registration.
