<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating water, capable of granulating denitrifying bacteria while making the water, which is to be treated and contains a nitrate ion and a nitrite ion, flow continuously in a perfect mixing type denitrification tank. <P>SOLUTION: A denitrification method comprises the steps of: continuously supplying the water to be treated to the perfect mixing type denitrification tank; and supplying a hydrogen donor thereto to deoxidize the nitrate ion and nitrite ion contained in the water to be treated into nitrogen by the denitrifying bacteria. The perfect mixing type denitrification tank is provided with: a first denitrification part; and a second denitrification part arranged at the succeeding stage of the first denitrification part. The hydrogen donor is supplied at least to the first denitrification part so that a difference between the concentration of the hydrogen donor in the first denitrification part in the hydraulic residence time of the water to be treated and that of the hydrogen donor in the second denitrification part in the hydraulic residence time of the water to be treated becomes a concentration difference enough to induce the denitrifying bacteria to be self-granulated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
