PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an option card to provide an option function within a predetermined range with respect to the correct combination of information communication equipment and an option card. SOLUTION: A secure memory is installed in the information communication equipment and the option card, to store authentication data and an option function to be provided from the option card. An authentication part is installed in the information communication equipment and the option card. When power is supplied, the authentication data are transmitted from the option card or the information communication equipment to the other party, and authenticated by the authentication part. The option card function is provided from the option card to the information communication equipment within the range of the function to be provided. Thus, it is possible to provide the option function within a correct range with respect to the correct combination of the information communication equipment and the option card.
