<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably detect the width direction displacement of a belt (the deviation of the belt) without damaging the belt. <P>SOLUTION: The belt drive type fixing device with the endless belt driven stretched between at least two support members includes a first support member provided with a light transmission region; a heater built in the first support member; a sensor provided in a position where heater light emitted through the light transmission region can be detected; and a displacement detecting part configured to detect the width direction displacement of the belt according to the light detection result of the sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
