<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellular phone that stops transmitting and receiving radio waves in a state wherein a communication contract is canceled even when the user does not know that a self-mode is available. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The cellular phone makes speech communication by wireless through a speech communication network, which communicates with the cellular phone to register the position of the cellular phone in the speech communication network. The cellular phone includes: a position registration section which communicates with the speech communication network for the position registration; a speech communication section which makes wireless communication for speech communication through the speech communication network when the speech communication network has succeeded in the position registration of the cellular phone; a failure information acquisition section which acquires failure information showing a failure from the speech communication network when the speech communication network has failed to register the position of the cellular phone; and a communication suppression section which suppresses communication with the speech communication network by the position registration section when the failure information acquisition section acquires the failure information.
