PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic inorganic composite composition in which fine particles are uniformly dispersed in a resin matrix and which has excellent transparency and a high refractive index.

SOLUTION: Provided is the organic inorganic composite composition characterized by comprising the inorganic particles and a thermoplastic resin containing structural units represented by general formula (1) [wherein, ring α and ring β are each a monocyclic or polycyclic ring; A is O or S; L is a divalent connection group; (n) is 0 or 1] and having functional groups capable of forming chemical bonds with the inorganic particles at the non-terminal ends of the polymer chain.
