<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for a vehicle, which enhances output efficiency of a motor, in the drive unit with a differential and the motor integrated. <P>SOLUTION: The drive unit for the vehicle with the motor 30 and the differential 14 integrated includes: a housing 16 for holding the motor and the differential; a water gallery 70 which is provided in the housing and cools the drive unit; a radiator 86 to cool cooling water; a cooling-water pump 80; a cooling water control means; and a temperature detecting means of the differential. At least a portion of the water gallery is provided between the motor and the differential. When the differential temperature detected by the temperature detecting means of the differential is higher than a predetermined temperature, the cooling water control means operates the cooling-water pump, and controls cooling so that the cooling water may flow through the water gallery provided between the motor and the differential. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
