PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new diazafluorene compound and to provide an organic light emitting device with very high efficiency and luminous optical output and high durability by using the compound. SOLUTION: The organic light emitting device comprises a pair of electrodes including positive and negative electrodes, as well as one or a plurality of organic compound layers sandwiched between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. At least one layer containing the organic compound comprises the organic compound containing at least one kind of diazafluorene derivatives represented by formula [IV]. R<SB>13</SB>and R<SB>14</SB>, in the formula, are each a (substituted) polycyclic aromatic group or a (substituted) condensed heterocyclic and are the same as or different from each other, R<SB>15</SB>and R<SB>16</SB>are an H, a (substituted) alkyl group, a (substituted) aryl group or a (substituted) heterocyclic group and are the same as or different from each other.
