BODY COLOR IMPROVING AGENT FOR CEPHALOPOD, AND METHOD FOR TREATING CEPHALOPOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eradicate worries about an adverse effect on a human body caused by eating a heat-treated cephalopod including a minute amount of food additives.

SOLUTION: An agent including hydroxy cinnamic acid is used as the body color improving agent for the heat-treated cephalopod. Before carrying out the heat-treating process for the cephalopod with hot water, the process of immersing the cephalopod in the agent including the hydroxy cinnamic acid is carried out. The hydroxy cinnamic acid to be an active constituent is preferably an extracted constituent being extracted by treating rice bran with a polar solvent. The extracted ingredient may be defatted bran-derived or residuary bran-derived one as well as rice bran-derived one.
