PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element not causing the misalignment of axis between the mating face and the lens face in assembling the lens. SOLUTION: In an optical element having a lens face, when a first lens face 1 and a first lens side face 4 are integrally formed, the surface roughness of the first lens side face 4 is made small to better the releasability with the nest and the surface roughness of a second lens side face 6, on the other hand, is made large so as for it to remain in the nest.
