A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce a scan time during one frame by dividing and disposing subfields in two frames, thereby driving the whole scan lines every subfield. A plasma display panel(100) displays an image in accordance with an image signal input from an external device. A panel driving unit(110) drives one picture of the image during a first frame and a second frame, in which some of the entire subfields are disposed in the first frame, and the remaining subfields are displaced in the second frame. The same number of the subfields is disposed in the first and second frames, respectively, in which the subfields representing low gray scale are disposed in the first frame, and the subfields representing high gray scale are disposed in the second frame.
