The structure (100) has a planar guide (1) for visible or ultraviolet radiation with an edge (13a) and two parallel main faces (11, 12) in which one face extracts a part of radiation. A quasi point radiation source (2) e.g. a light-emitting diode, coupled to the guide for transmitting the radiation inside the guide. The source has a main radiation-transmitting direction and is arranged such that, the direction, after being refracted on the guide, has an incidence with respect to the intersected main face (12) greater than total reflecting incidence given by a specific relation.
