<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair a video signal line in an extremely simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display apparatus has a pixel electrode where selected video signals from a video signal line are supplied and a reference electrode disposed separated from the pixel electrode and where reference signals from a reference signal line are supplied, in each pixel region in the liquid crystal side of one transparent substrate in transparent substrates disposed opposing to each other through the liquid crystal, and controls the transmittance for light of the liquid crystal between the pixel electrode and the reference electrode by an electric field generating between these electrodes.
