Innersole of a shoe

An insole for a shoe is moulded from an elastic layer and has a regular pattern of hollow profiles (112) in an alternating array. The profiles comprise polygonal or round shapes tapering to inner closed narrow ends. A simple design has regular square pyramids in a raster array each side of the base layer. The insole thus has similar surface patterns on both sides and can be fitted either way up. This enables pairs of insoles to be pressed using only one pair of press plates. The alternating profiles have a close spacing for optimum effect.
