The stove according to the invention comprises a central heating body around which is arranged an air heating duct. The heating body has a parallelepipedal shape delimited by a stove sole 2, a stove bottom 10 extending vertically from the rear edge of the stove sole 2, two lateral sides being capable of receiving a window pane, a vertical front face 24 equipped with a glazed door, and a stove top to which is connected a smoke discharge pipe 33. The air heating duct comprises a flat inner box, a vertical box 55 and an upper box 60 equipped with orifices making it possible to pass through the smoke duct 33 and orifices equipped with means for connecting hot air channels 65, 66. This stove may be installed in fireplaces already in existence or still to be built, or can simply be connected to a smoke discharge duct. <IMAGE>
