PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing device capable of preventing reduction in ion concentration and providing stable sterilizing capability, and an air adjuster, apparatus or building using it. SOLUTION: An ion generator 16 and an air blowing part 15 are driven by drive of an air conditioner 13, and air containing ions is sent out into a room. By this, floating fungi in the room are sterilized. When it is determined that a window 21 and a door 22 are open by a detection result of an opening and closing detecting switch 17, high voltage is applied to an electrode of the ion generator 16, and a great deal of ions is sent into the room. By this, ions escaping outside the room are replenished, the ion concentration in the room is maintained, and deterioration of the sterilizing capability is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
