PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair dye which can dye hair in a brilliant orange-red- violet color and has excellent fastness. SOLUTION: A powder hair dye exhibiting a brilliant reddish orange color is prepared by mixing 0.3 g of p-phenylenediamine sulfate (dye component A), 1 g of 2-chloro-p-phenylenediamine sulfate (dye component A), 1 g of 4- amino-3-methylphenol sulfate (dye component B), 2 g of 5-amino-2-methylphenol sulfate (dye component C), 50 g of sodium percarbonate, 15 g of ammonium sulfate, 3 g of sodium lauryl sulfate, 27 g of sodium carboxymethylcellulose, 1 g of disodium edetate, 1 g of a perfume, and 3 g of sodium sulfate.
