PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for finishing having a cutting performance of a slight allowance and providing a finished surface having high size accuracy and good surface roughness for a workpiece. SOLUTION: A tip holding part 5 is integrally joined to the tip of a shank 3. A tip 7 constituted by a columnar super abrasive grain compact is fixed to the top end of the tip holding part. The top surface 8 and an outer peripheral surface 9 of the tip function as a working surface to the workpiece. This working surface is roughened so that its surface roughness is Ra 0.5 to 2.0μm.
