PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stocker type refuse incinerator for gasifying and ashing stuff to be incinerated placed on a stoker, while the stuff passes through a drying zone, a combustion zone and an ember combustion zone, and for burning the gasified stuff in a combustion chamber above the stoker, causing the gasifying speed to be low, and suppressing luminous flame formation on the combustion zone and generation of dioxins. SOLUTION: This stoker type refuse incinerator comprises a hopper 11 in which the stuff 10 to be incinerated such as the refuse is thrown, a stoker 12, an ash chute 13, a primary combustion chamber 14 formed in an upper combustion space of the stoker, and a secondary combustion chamber 15 which is continuously provided thereon and has a secondary air supply unit 21. A radiation heat blocking projecting part 18 is provided on the boundary between the primary combustion chamber 14 and the secondary combustion chamber 15, a bypass passage 17a is provided in the secondary combustion chamber 15 from an upper space of the drying zone, and a bypass passage 17b is provided in the secondary combustion chamber 15 from an upper space of the combustion zone 12c.
