The protection circuit (FS) has a total discharge protection (TS), which includes an operating contact (K1) in series to a load (RL) and a contactor coil (K2) for operating the contact arranged in parallel to the accumulator (AK) and the load. A diode (D) is provided in series to the contactor coil for decoupling the coil from the electric circuit of the accumulator. A capacitor (C) is provided in parallel to the contactor coil for holding the voltage (UK2) at the coil.
