A light beam irradiated on the sample, is reflected to a mirror (12) through a lens (11). The beam reflected from the mirror (12) is irradiated to the detachable intermediate lens barrel unit (16) through the lens (15). The unit (16) has a beam splitter for splitting the reflected beams which are guided respectively to the lens (24) and the image pick-up optical path.
