PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant polyvinyl chloride resin molded article satisfying flame retardancy, moldability and mechanical strengths together. SOLUTION: The flame retardant polyvinyl chloride resin molded article which is made by formulating at least a thermal stabilizer, a slipping agent and a molybdenum compound to a polyvinyl chloride resin and by molding into a desired shape includes 0.05-1.5 pts.wt. as a metallic molybdenum of a molybdenum compound relative to 100 pts.wt. of the polyvinyl chloride resin. The flame resistance is improved by the action of the metallic molybdenum as a flame retardant, and since it is added in a small amount of 0.05-1.5 pts.wt. the compound can be molded without giving bad influence and can retain practical mechanical strengths.
