PURPOSE: Ring groove is formed protrudingly to act as a piston ring, thereby maintaining sealing in a combustion chamber without a piston ring. CONSTITUTION: A piston comprises ring grooves(16a) mounted with piston rings of a compression ring and an oil ring. The ring grooves are formed protrudingly to contact with an inner surface of a cylinder. The ring grooves are protruded more than a land, and acts as piston rings. Thereby, a process to mount a piston ring to the ring groove is not necessary.
