POLYCRYSTALLINE SILICON ROD AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING THE SAME

<p>A polycrystalline silicon rod having a jointing structure which allows jointing a plurality of rods with one another at their end portions with stability and in a manner such that the plurality of rods can be suspended with ease; and a method for processing a polycrystalline silicon rod which allows forming a flute or the like in it without annealing. The polycrystalline silicon rod can improve significantly the efficiency of the melting of polycrystalline silicon. Further, the removal of a part or the whole of the outer regions of a polycrystalline silicon rod and the processing of the residual central regions permits the elimination of the need for annealing treatment.</p>
