PURPOSE: A method for implementing a cell broadcast service(CBS) in a mobile communication system is provided to support the CBS in a mobile station by using a paging channel, which is a forward channel, in a channel card inside a base station of the mobile communication system applying a code division multiple access(CDMA) system , thereby simultaneously transmitting data to every mobile station user. CONSTITUTION: Periodically performing broadcast paging in a base station for a mobile station according to a broadcast paging cycle. An extend system parameter message is transmitted to a mobile station for the cyclic broadcast paging. A present state of the cyclic broadcast paging is notified to every mobile station by using a broadcast index of the extend system parameter message. A slot for transmitting a general page message, which indicates the existence of cell broadcast service(CBS) messages to be transmitted to the mobile station and indicates the number of CBS messages to be transmitted, is decided according to the broadcast index. The general page message is loaded on the decided slot and transmitted to the mobile station. And the CBS messages are loaded on the third slot as data burst messages and transmitted to the mobile station. |
