PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for drying and solidifying soil where by a safely utilizable solidified product can be obtained quickly without using any cemental solidifying agent or the like. SOLUTION: This process comprises mixing soil with a neutral water-soluble polymer agent and hemihydrate gypsum and curing the resulting mixture. More particularly, 100 pts.wt. soil having a water content of 35 to below 50wt.% is mixed with 0.0075-0.03pt.wt. neutral water-soluble polymer agent and 9.97-9.9925 pts.wt. hemihydrate gypsum and the resulting mixture is cured.
