PURPOSE:To shorten the time needed for registration of data at the time of teaching and also to reduce the labor needed for registration, by supplying the position information and the form information on a parts serving as the reference when a circuit board is inspected after image-picking up an element circuit board where no parts is packed and a reference circuit board where parts are packed. CONSTITUTION:An element circuit board 18, a printed circuit board 16-2 to be inspected, etc. set on an X-Y table 15 are fixed by a chuck mechanism 17 and the positions of these parts are decided by pulse motors 13 and 14 in the X and Y axis directions respectively. Then those parts are image-picked up by an image pickup part 11. In this case, parts 19-1-19-n are not set on the circuit board 18 yet. While a reference printed circuit board 16-1 contains those parts 19-1-19-n set on a circuit board 18-1 equal to the circuit board 18 at each correct position and in each correct posture. Here the printed circuit board 16-2 are obtained in mass production and compared with the printed circuit board 16-1 at the time of inspection. Thus the quality of the printed circuit board 16-2 is decided.
