The remote controller searching device by a clapping sound comprises: an input/output unit for transforming a received clapping sound into an electrical signal to search remote controller and producing a signal output responding to the input clapping sound; a noise filtering unit for filtering out noises from the clapping sound and detecting the clapping sound in the frequency range where clapping sounds are mainly distributed; a count unit for counting number of inputs from noise filtered clapping sounds within a predetermined time; a responding sound generating unit for responding to a remote controller searching if a counting result satisfies the prescribed value; and a switching unit for switching the role of the input/output unit from the input unit to the output unit, thereby improving the device.
