Process for the manufacture of articles from welded metallic wires comprising an edge wire

The procedure esp. for articles such as grilles or wire baskets, involves welding the wires (1) which form the base to two parallel side members (2',2"). The ends of the side members are then bent inwards and joined by welds (3) to form a continuous surround for a flat grille. A similar procedure is used for a wire basket, but the base wires are laid in two directions, intersecting at right angles and both sets of base wires are bent upwards to form the sides of the basket before connecting to the surround.
