<p>An apparatus for data recovery is disclosed. The apparatus recovers digital information from radio frequency information. An analog signal, indicative of the radio frequency and having a wave form of positive peaks and negative peaks about a DC bias point, is input to the apparatus. The apparatus includes circuitry (60,62) for determining a first mid-level analog wave form based on the positive peaks of the wave form of the input analog signal, circuitry (64,66) for determining a second mid-level analog wave form based on the negative peaks of the wave form of the input analog signal, a summing block (68) for summing the first mid-level analog wave form and the second mid-level analog wave form to obtain a new analog signal which is more symmetrical about the DC bias point than the analog signal input to the apparatus, and a slicer circuit (54) block that squares the new analog signal from to yield the digital information for the baseband processor. <MATH></p> |
