METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING INCLUSIONS IN MOLTEN METAL IN CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To effectively remove inclusions present in a molten steel in a tundish. CONSTITUTION:At the time of continuously casting the molten metal 2 in the tundish 3 into a mold 5 through an immersion nozzle 4, by packing ceramic chips 8 having inclusion adsorptivity in the immersion nozzle 4, non-straight line state complicated molten steel flowing passage and gaps generating the stagnations of molten steel flow are formed. The inclusions 6 in the molten steel 2 are effectively adsorbed and removed with the ceramic chips 8 during passing through the non-straight line state complicated molten steel flowing passages while generating the stagnations. Exchange of the ceramic chips 8 can be easily executed at the time of exchanging the immersion nozzle 4.
