<p>PURPOSE:To easily comprehend the hierarchical structure of selected items by displaying the titles of menus, which are selected in respective high-order hierarchies rather than the hierarchy of the currently displayed selection item, with step-shaped arrangement corresponding to the depth of the hierarchy. CONSTITUTION:When a menu is called by an input device, a menu window 5a is displayed on a screen S and this menu window 5a is composed of a menu title 7a and a selection item area 8a. In the selection item area 8a, selection item 9aa-9ad in the low-order hierarchies of the menu title 7a are displayed and when selecting the 'diagnosis' of the selection item 9ac out of these items for example, a menu window 5b with a menu title 7b of the 'diagnosis' is displayed. When the hierarchical structure is made too deep to be displayed on the screen, menu titles 7a-7d are displayed like a step in the upper direction of a selection item area 8d. Thus, the hierarchical structure of the selected items can be easily comprehended.</p> |
