The motor road crash barrier shock absorber consists of a laminated element, approximately rectangular in cross-section and with a height equal to or greater than that of the barrier rail (7). The shock absorber has front and rear layers (3, 4) of an elastic material, and an intermediate honeycomb layer, also of an elastic material. All the layers can be of rubber, polyurethane or a similar material, and the rear layer can be shaped to adapt to the surface of the crash barrier and incorporate fixing bolts (10).
