The heater is particularly for automotive use, having a stack of parallel fins spaced apart, and through which the straight arms of U-tubes pass. A manifold at one end of the stack contains two chambers separated by a wall, and to which the opposite ends of each tube are connected. The tubes (3) are offset from each other in rows, so that the axes of their arms are in two common planes and parallel to each other.
