PURPOSE:To prevent a program updating chance from being restricted by controlling the application of new and old functions to individual resources to be processed by a system. CONSTITUTION:A revision processing initializing program VER.INIT displays the application of a new program to a resource already set up to an idle state at the time of changing on a plural-program segmenting flags VERTA to VERX so that a new program can be applied and displays a using resource so that an old program is used. Since the resource processing the old program is con trolled by the new program on the way of the processing, the generation of contradiction can be prevented. Since the application of a new/old function to an individual resource to be processed by the system is controlled, software can be revised without interrupting service.
