The folding shelf comprises first and second rectangular sections (3,4) hinging together between the extended horizontal position and the folded upright one. The first section (3) has a retaining wall (7) along its outer edge and moving with it on unfolding, and upright in the extended position. It can be arranged to tilt towards the first section on hinges when folding.
