A videoe camera (16) means the original (14) to provide video signals which are digitalised and electronically processed. The resultant image is displayed on a video monitor screen (21). The screen image is then recorded by using it to illuminate the photographic recording material (23). The brightness of the processed image can be heightened or reduced, a colour image cna be converted into a black-and-white image, or a positive image can be converted into a negative image.
